About Edina Garden Council
Established in 1953, the Edina Garden Council provides a volunteer base of gardeners who cultivate plants in the Arneson Acres greenhouses for the City of Edina. The group adds to the horticultural beautification of the community in many ways: city garden planting, buckthorn abatement, VA hospital flower arrangements, and park facility additions including a fountain, irrigation system updates and of course, new flower beds.
The Edina Garden Council also sponsors a popular annual plant sale along with a series of educational and gardening social events. Edina Garden Council members include gardeners from all over the Twin Cities area and a few snowbirds too! Some EGC members have volunteered actively for decades while others are just getting started.
